WeTravellers ("we," "our," or "us") is a group travel platform that connects solo travellers with compatible travel companions. Our platform is accessible at wetravellers.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, nationality, age, and travel preferences.

Identity verification: To keep our community safe, we may collect a passport image for identity verification. This image is processed by AI and stored securely. It is never shared with other users.

Profile data: Travel style, interests, bio, profile photo, and languages you speak.

Payment data: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

Usage data: Pages visited, trips browsed, messages sent (group chats), and actions taken on the platform.

Communications: If you contact us via email or our contact form, we retain those messages to respond to you.

• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, password resets)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share your information only with:

• Other group members: Your name, profile photo, nationality, and bio are visible to members of your travel group.
• Service providers: Supabase (database & storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI features). Each operates under their own privacy policy.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We use session cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in) and analytics cookies to understand how our platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate data

• Object to or restrict processing

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a banner on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
